Watch this … Yeah, it’s the screenshots of the first implemented games2go game. As we think, this is pretty cool. For many people this may bring them down to earth Why? Because it’s all about mental arithmetic!

Therefor you will be faced with 20 arithmetic problems which you have to solve by calculation only in your head. Have fun and good luck.

Today we can proudly announce to become sponsor of the coming up Barcamp Rhein-Neckar in Mannheim, Germany, which will be organized by Marco and Habu. The happening will be on 24. and 25. November.

As we recognized during the past conventions there is a highly interest in our software so we will be happy to show it to as many people as possible. So feel free to ask us wherever you meet us at the barcamp. We will provide you a cellphone to try the first game … Furthermore we will spread a special betakey which will give you great benefit then. There is still some space left so feel free to register today.

Today we publish the first screenshot of our mobile application games2go. Enjoy watching it.

We just wanted to let you know that - of course - this a still a pre-pre-pre-pre-alpha version. There is still a lot of work to do until we can launch the closed beta, but i think that we are on the right way.

Visiting Web 2.0 Expo

We are currently visiting the Web 2.0 Expo in Berlin where we have met many many interesting people. It is a great event with lots of international guests and we are having lots of fun. Only the lunch ~~could~~ should be better for a price like this.

Many of the people we met we have shown our first prototype with the first game and all of them where totally fascinated of games2go. Apparently we are on the right way!

We will provide first screenshots later this day.

Trademark

After we did apply for a german trademark some weeks ago we recently received the confirmation and the invoice of our application by the “Deutsche Patent- und Markenamt“. So today we made the remittance to the departments’ account. Now we hope for a fast entry of the trademark to get legal certainty, but we think it will take its time of 3-5 month from now on.

Blog-Beiträge ab jetzt auf Englisch

Gestern haben wir überlegt, in welcher Sprache wir unseren Blog weiterschreiben. Wir haben folgende Möglichkeiten:

Auf deutsch weiterschreiben
Auf englsich weiterschreiben
Auf deutsch und auf englisch weiterschreiben
1. indem wir alle Beiträge übersetzen und auf deutsch und englisch die gleichen Inhalte publizieren
2. indem wir am deutsch, mal englisch (je nach Laune, Inhalt, etc.) schreiben

Tja, wir haben und für Variante 2 entschieden and so we are going to publish all blog postings in english language from now on. We do so, because we will also provide our services abroad and so it probably will be better to become an international blog. If you are unable to understand the english postings just let us know for a short german summarize. We are no native speakers so please be patience with us

Java oder (Handy)Browser Spiele

Diese Frage ist natürlich zentral und ich sehe das so:

Solange derzeit die aktuellen Handys noch einen relativ bescheidenden eingebauten Browser haben machen wir unsere Spiele als Java Applikation.
Sollten die Handys alle mal einen richtig guten Browser bekommen, werden wir unser Angebot auch mit Spielen für den Browser erweitern. Warum auch nicht.

Derzeit bekommen wir eine bessere Qualität und erreichen mehr Leute, wenn wir uns auf eine Java Version konzentrieren. Aber das heißt jetzt nicht, dass wir für immer an Java gebunden sind…

Pünktlich zum neuen Jahr werden wir am 31. Dezember 2007 (ein paar Stunden vor Silvester) die ersten Keys für die Closes-Beta verschicken.

Wer daran Interesse hat, kann sich ab heute für die Beta-Phase bewerben.

17 neue Spiele

Heute haben wir gemeinsam 17 potentielle neue Spiele für unsere Games2go Plattform besprochen, die ich in den letzten Tagen zusammengetragen habe. Drei davon werden wir vor dem Start der Beta Phase selber entwickeln und und in der Grundversion mit ausliefern. Die restlichen Spiele werden zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt umgesetzt.

Für welche 3 Spiele wir uns entscheiden werden hängt von der technischen Machbarkeit ab. Vom Prinzip her bekommen wir alles hin, das ist nicht das Problem. Kompliziertere Spiele dauern halt nur länger bei der Umsetzung und es ist in der aktuellen Situation besser erstmal eine gute Basis und eine gute Struktur zu schaffen, anstatt das komplizierteste Spiel auf einem nicht stabilen Fundament zu entwickeln…
